Street Journal is the Gulf
side
community of Gulf
Harbors Florida.
This community of homes in the $285,000 to $2,800,000 range is situated
just 20 miles North of Tampa Bay in Pasco County. The original
development
started back in the 60's and includes a Golf Course, Private Beach, several community
boat launches and 1,800 homes. The second phase was Gulf Harbors Woodlands which started
in the mid 70's. All homes, except a few bordering
the golf course have Gulf of Mexico access by way of the two main
channels. The North channel is connected to six additional channels
which feed other channels into the community. The South channel feeds
into numerous channels, all providing deep water Gulf access. Virtually
all homes have boats and docks. Take off and landing
of Sea Planes too.
Just off shore is a
favorite playground for this community of
boaters....both Sail and Power. The Anclote Key's
lay just 2.5 miles off shore and begins the ICW to Tampa Bay and on to
the Keys. The key is several miles long with
bright white sandy beaches on the West
side and shallow estuaries and
coves on the East side. There are sheltered anchorage's on this palm
laden isle. Camping is permitted and boaters love it. Google Map

SECRET..... The best part however, is the Sand Bar just North of
the key. At low tide
it is almost connected to Anclote Key but not quite. It stretches North
about a mile and a half and provides some of the best barbecue, sunning
and umbrella chair relaxing ever. For years this has been the private
(open to the public) stomping grounds of the Gulf Harbors Community.
This is primarily a daytime spot with anchorage's to overnight on your
boat and good fishing. The shallow waters around the sand bar are
excellent for swimming and sea shell hunting. Today's Gulf Harbors
